This retrofit fits the following models:
Audi A3 8P Hatchback (2003 - 2013)
Audi A3 8P Sportback (2004 - 2013)
Introduction
I only had speakers in the front doors of my car and it has honestly been killing me slowly. I purchased the speakers and subwoofer a long time ago, but the retrofit did not seem that easy so was looking for help from other users.I will say that the Sound System is soo much better and it was a true pleasure to drive home after the retrofit. Now there is a total of 4 speakers, 4 tweeters, 1 subwoofer and A HUGE SOUND DIFFERENCE.
Time
6-8 hours.Be aware that you need to read diagrams, create a harness and the car needs to be split well inside for running the harness.
Installation & Guide
The installation was done by the user Discoboy from Vagcars.dk (Denmark).I would not say that this is an easy retrofit but once you tried it, it do seem more simple than before. If it was simple, I would have done it myself from the beginning.
You do need quite a few cable terminals in all sort of different sizes. You need them for the subwoofer, tweeters, speakers, doorconnection and stereo. A whole car harness is not bad to have if you can find one used online, as Audi do not sell the terminals loose, but only with overpriced cables which you need to cut anyways. You can however also find the terminals on ebay.
From the subwoofer you need to run the cables all the way up to the stereo and ground, which I took from the battery. Then you need to run cables to the doors. See the picture below for specific information, which actually describes the entire retrofit pretty well.
No coding is required.
Usage
There is not much to tell about usability but I guarantee you that you will love the upgraded sound. You can of course always change the sound settings under your RNS-E in the "Sound" settings, where you can edit the balance, bass, etc.Part numbers + Price

NOTE: BE AWARE THAT PART NUMBERS FOR SPEAKERS AND TWEETERS MIGHT HAVE CHANGED AFTER 2008 FACELIFT!
